A website that specializes in testing and treatment services for HIV and STDs. Users can come and book and appointment and see hours of operations of store hours.

Problem discovered

Users could not find the way to the nearest clinic nor could not find forms of documentation that was needed when attending the clinic.

I looked at three competing brands for inspiration. HealthTestingCenters.com, PrioritySTDTesting.com and PlannedParenthood.com. In our synthesis of our competitive research we concluding we wanted to create a product that:

  • Included audience participation to fill out forms faster and easier.

  • Considered how users interacted with maps and promos.

  • Welcomed the user with an interface that shows it values their input.

 

Design Solution:

Different stakeholders have different needs, we decided to feature different information in a variety of deliverable. By identifying the audience, it resulted to easy-to-navigate, easy-to-understand, and actionable insights. Overall the design had a positive feedback and it played the key role in making the once dull and lengthy website resulted into engaging and easy to access website.

What I Learned

This project made me realize how limited resources there are for people living with HIV and STDs. I believe that with more clinic locations and advertisements, CheckYourStatus will become a voice for the future. Working on a project like this motivated me to seek out more opportunities to help non-profits with the design of their services and what they offer.

 

Visions for the Future

 

For this project I designed one specific landing page based on the main goal of the organization's website. Finding a nearby clinic, hours and application forms.

  1. Building a chat function for a fast and quick questions being answered.

  2. A resource hub for HIV and STD infected users that are seeking out services CheckYourStatus provides.
